Idol Sayaka Yoshino announces marriage (late) to American

Idol Sayaka Yoshino (29), after being outed by a tabloid media, has finally confirmed on her official blog that she is married.

While this is news sad enough in itself, then comes two bits of intriguing details.

She was married in September 2010 but did not say so until now, apparently out of deference to the March 11th, 2011 earthquake (WTF? How is that relevant?), but more likely in order to protect her reputation as a desirable gal that men would still in theory be able to bang if they fantasize hard enough!

The other juice titbit is that her new(ish) hubby is apparently an American, who is one year older than her and whom she first met around a decade ago through a friend. Lucky devil!

Sayaka rose to fame during the Nineties in a bunch of TV dramas and TV commercials, though her activities have quietened of late.

Since this kind of development in an idol’s “career” usually means that they start to curtail semi-nude photo shoots, we thought we’d take this opportunity to pay tribute to the lovely Sayaka Yoshino.

Kumiko Takeda (b. 1968) famously married an American and moved to the States. Much missed for her sexy voluptuous looks…

Naoko Iijima (b. 1968) is quite a survivor. From her idol days to regular TV talento, she has had the longest career of all these ladies, though partly this is likely because she married and divorced quickly, returning to showbiz (though sadly not to bikini modeling).

Idol of the Year: Yukie Kawamura

We had a little internal vote — I promise you, nothing like as rigged as recent Russian elections! — and have decided that our favorite idol for this year is Yukie Kawamura.

Not a newbie on the scene at all (hell, we even made her Idol of the Week a year ago!), but with every viewing she just gets better and better. Combining classy looks with cutesy smiles, a killer slinky body and a generous bust, Yukie gets our votes any day!

Born in 1986 and from cold northern Hokkaido originally, this year Yukie started advertising the Toyota Prius, plus a pachinko slot game company, and even, bizarrely, interview businessmen for an online magazine. Over the last couple of years Yukie has been reinventing herself as an actress, cropping up in plays and movies in supporting roles.

Drug idol turned stripper, now porn star

Following scandals with drugs — including another one recently where she fled abroad for a while — H-cup idol Minako Komukai (小向美奈子) shows no sign of giving up.

AKB48 Augmented Reality App

Top idols AKB48 have been promoting almost every product in Japan recently and prominent among the campaigns has been the one for travel agency H.I.S.

Though you sadly can’t actually book a trip with any of the lovely ladies, you can go some of the way there with the latest addition to the marketing smorgasbord: An AKB48 augmented reality app for smartphones!

From August 22 to September 30, guys up and down the land are going to be occupied with oen thing only — the AKB48 Augmented Reality Stamp Rally. After downloading the free app, uou have to go to branches of H.I.S. and read the AR markers and collect 15 virtual AKB idols ostensibly “standing” in the store and posing for your viewing pleasure.

After you collect 5 stamps/idols you then get to watch special video on your phone.

There other incentives like winning a vacation and all that jazz, but we know the real reason for this kind of campaign. And it’s slim and cute, with thin legs and a slender waist!

Some of the gals have also recently been doing sexy photo shoots for Peach John bras, proving that even petite idols can have nice busts if they choose the right lingerie.

Fake AKB48 idol Aimi Eguchi is real

After generating uproar and surprise when they faked a new CGI member for an ice cream commercial, AKB48 have trumped us again by introducing a “real” Aimi Eguchi.

In front of 90 thousand fans during a major concert, “Eguchi” joined the regular gals on stage for an encore!

It later emerged that we had been fooled again by those dastardly ladies! The performer was in fact 15-year old Yukari Sasaki, who had been the voice behind the Glico Aimi Eguchi commercial, and was wearing special make-up to make her appear like the idol.

That’s a tough thing to attempt since Aimi is famously formed of all the cutest elements from the other members. Yukari is currently a “trainee” at AKB48 and thus a fledging compared to veterans like Atsuko Maeda, Yuko Oshima, Mariko Shinohara et al.

Tomomi Itano’s Sexy New Single
