Twitter users arrested for selling uncensored selfies and videos

Japan’s obscenity laws about not showing genitalia apply to you, even if you are supposedly an amateur and not a professional porn production company churning out DVDs and streaming releases.

On June 30, Japanese media showed police giving 21-year-old Yukino Kimura the perp walk.

Her crime? She had sold unedited videos on Twitter to people who sent her a message on the platform. Her account was apparently reinya3_, which is still active at the time of writing but has not been updated since early June.

The cutie worked by day as a company employee in Kyoto but had a Twitter account where she offered sex videos she shot herself. These had durations of between one and 15 minutes, featuring her using dildos and so on on herself. She also sold photos. She would sell her content for ¥3,500-4,000.

Because of the rarity of content that isn’t pixellated — known locally as “mosaic” — demand was strong and Kimura made about ¥1.7 million in all.

Kimura was not alone. Others made as much as ¥2.5 million from selling their content, which they sent to customers via file-sharing websites.

The police apparently heard about the case last September and waited until June to swoop, arresting Kimura and four others similarly using Twitter to sell their amateur sex tapes and nude selfies.

Police in Kyoto seized Kimura’s phone as well as some costume items she used to make her videos.

Kimura has admitted that she did it to make extra money to supplement her regular income, which wasn’t enough for her lifestyle.

So if you’re in Japan and trying to get uncensored amateur material, be careful! And if you think it’s a quick way to make a buck, forget it!

    @beyond culture

    Absolutely! But it’s also totally in line with the legal restrictions on “professional” porn too.

    Apparently you can’t earn money “easily” and “faster” or else authorities will sue you.

    Are there even news reports of arrests for men doing the same thing? Similar to several global cultures, it’s the absolute universal law where men make the rules and women have very few rights. And for women to try to help themselves…well that’s a challenge to the rules–no matter how silly/antiquated the rules are. Even in the US, women are losing their rights to conservatives voted into power; sadly, there are even women who want women to remain subservient. I support the women amateurs’ right to freely market aspects of herself to self-economic enrichment.
