They say that half the Japanese web is cats and the other half is food. That's false: a third is cats, a third is food and the last third is various shades of porn and adult content. So when you combine these elements, you get a recipe for a hit online or offline. For example, nyotaimori or the "condom cookbook" we featured back in 2014. Now along comes "Painyan", a new 96-page photo book by Yuki Aoyama released on May 31st. Regular readers will recall that Aoyama is the photographer with something of an obsession with schoolgirls. This time Aoyama has turned his lens away from ...

Yesterday we wrote about a Japanese photographer who has turned his private house into a sex doll museum -- and opened it up to the public. Now here are three developments related to Japan's top sex doll brand, Orient Industry. Orient Industry has released a 40th-anniversary book looking at the history of their sex dolls (also known as love dolls) and how they are made. You can order it from Kanojo Toys, though be aware that the text is only in Japanese. The Kishin Shinoyama photography exhibition we previewed in April has now started at the Shibuya art space Atsuko Barouh Arts Drinks ...

Photographer and love doll super fan Yoshitaka Hyodo has converted his private house into a personal hihokan-style sex museum. Located in Yashio City on the border between Saitama and Tokyo, Hyodo has even opened up his house to the public for Golden Week. If you want to visit, it is open from April 30th to May 5th. Reservations are required, though, so check his blog for more details. Admission is ¥1,000, but apparently free for people with sex dolls. Photography is allowed for non-commercial purposes. This is the fourth time he has opened up his collection across two floors ...

We've been following the "World of Thighs" series of photography exhibitions by Yuria ever since it started in 2015 and just got bigger and bigger with each new iteration. Focused just on the glorious wonder of slender Japanese girls' thighs and legs, previous versions of the smash-hit show (known as "Futomomo-ten" in Japanese) include a hot spring theme. As we once noted, this is basically zettai ryouiki (forbidden zone) fetish with some artistic trappings. One version of the show in Golden Week 2016 was attended by some 16,000 people. There is now a new ...

The immensely successful "Futomomo" girls' thighs fetish photography series is back. After its previous incarnations in Tokyo attracted over 20,000 visitors, "World of Thighs" returns to Todays Gallery Studio in Asakusabashi from December 16th to January 22nd (closed December 31st to January 4th). This time there is a "hot spring" (onsen) theme. (Springs are traditionally very erotic in Japan.) It's not hard to see why this exhibition has pulled in the punters. As always, all the photographs by Yuria feature Japanese girls' slender legs. ...

The photographer Sakiko Nomura has a new exhibition at Ba-Tsu Art Gallery in Harajuku showcasing the beauty of Japanese AV actors. During the 1990s, Sakiko Nomura trained with Nobuyoshi Araki, who knows a thing or two about erotic photography. As we know, male porn performers are in short supply in Japan and so deserve our admiration for doing what must be a tough job. Yeah, having sex with hundreds of hot women a month for money. We really sympathize. But seriously, the photography looks great. There's certainly a homoerotic overtone. And it gets even more fun when we consider ...

Japan's favorite It Girl, Kiko Mizuhara, has teamed up with photographer Nobuyoshi Araki again for a series of shibari rope bondage-inspired photos. Ostensibly the shoot is advertising the fall/winter 2016 collection of the fashion brand Supreme, but who cares about such details when Kiko is tied up and waiting for someone to whip her? Araki and Mizuhara previously (and memorably) partnered for a nude photo shoot for Shiseido back in 2013. There's also this promo behind-the-scenes video too, showing Kiko-chan roll over and reveal her panties. The aging Araki gets rather ...

Photographer Yasumasa Yonehara is up to his old tricks again. And boy are we grateful. We reported on his Runner's Pai series of videos earlier in the summer, which seemed to consist of nothing more than busty gravure idols running on treadmills because... just because. In July he organized a live music event called NDG Champion Carnival at Shibuya Club Asia, a nightclub located in the heart of Shibuya's "love hotel hill" (very handy, by the way), featuring the likes of Mai Tsukamoto running for all their worth while their assets bounce up and down. Just because. Yonehara exhorts ...

Now that's what we call tentacle sex. Some people really go that extra mile for their cosplay. Here is one example that's going to be hard to beat for a while. Cosplayer Namada spent half a day with photographer Kazan Yamamoto and the results are incredible, not least because Namada is beautiful and she was posing with a friend. That friend being a 18kg (nearly 40 lb) live octopus from Hokkaido. Regular readers to this blog will immediately spot that this is a reference to Hokusai's The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife, perhaps the most famous example of shunga ...

Back in August we reported on the return of the "Futomomo" photography exhibition series, featuring thigh fetish images by Yuria. Themed exclusively around Japanese girls' thighs, after an exhibition in 2015 the new show in the series is now open in Shibuya. It has highlights from the successful "World of Thighs" exhibition also held in Shibuya in April and May 2016, which was visited by 15,000 people. Visitors were allowed to take pictures (but not to touch -- that's something of a joke) and here are some of the results. The entrance alone has to be seen to be believed. Inside, you ...
