"Gender, Genitor, Genitalia - Rokudenashiko Tribute" is an exhibition planned for Hong Kong as a tribute to the struggle of "vagina artist" Rokudenashiko (Megumi Igarashi).
Megumi Igarashi, who goes by the artist name of Rokudenashiko, calls her art "deko-man" (vagina decoration). She has been arrested for obscenity. Her crime was such projects as making a boat based on a mold of her genitalia. (Remember, this is all happening in Japan, where mythology says the gods created the islands through sex and fertility festivals continue to happen.)
The exhibitors are currently running ...
We've long blogged about the fake profiles on deai-kei (encounter) sites. The police have been cracking down on them in recent years, as we reported before.
We heard about this story about a pretty shocking and egregious recent example.
Chiba police have arrested eight people of a deai-kei site company on suspicion of hiring male employees to pose as women on the site and extort male users of their money.
The scam sites apparently had a total of 2.7 million members — and all but one of them were men! The sites employed male part-time workers to chat with the members, who ...
A 38-year-old municipal employee of Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, has been arrested for indecent exposure.
Local cops took the Yoshihiro Sekiguchi into custody on May 19th on suspicion of exposing his lower half to a 19-year-old female part-time worker at a Maebashi drug store.
The incident allegedly happened on April 2nd at around 9:30 at night when the man was at the cash register buying something. He then showed his penis to the young lady serving him.
The store manager reported the incident to police on April 6th and it was confirmed on the shop's CCTV. Japanese police ...
Police are cracking down on "obscene" video sites.
Asiajin reports that at the end of April, Kyoto and other police forces arrested the president of Home Page System, which is meant to be a PR company acting for Japanese web service FC2.
FC2 is the fourth most popular Japanese web service, after Yahoo! Japan, Google Japan and Amazon Japan.
FC2 is well known by claiming to be an American company based in Las Vegas, therefore the contents are not restricted by Japanese law. The Las Vegas address is a rental address and it has been suspected years that the Home Page System is the ...
Three members of a Nippon Kempo martial arts club at Osaka University of Commerce have been arrested for inflicting violence and threats on other students.
College clubs and sports groups can be tough places, with lots of drinking and entrance rituals. But this club went too far, it seems.
Osaka University of Commerce, located in Higashi-Osaka City, is not a college with a particularly high academic reputation but its Nippon Kempo club is one of the best in the country. Clearly this success comes at a price.
A male student aged 19, now a sophomore but then a freshman, had his face ...
Art imitates life, as the aphorism goes, but life also imitates art.
Visitors to Japan are sometimes disappointed that the country doesn't live up to the stereotypes: Where are the geisha? Where are the robots? Where are the hordes of anime girls?
Where are all the molesters on the trains? Wait, what? Yes, some people are actually expecting to see this.
Japan may be paying the price for being the empire of porn.
Its overseas reputation is not quite as "cool" as the government might like. Instead, foreigners are seemingly coming to Japan expecting the nation to be like they have ...
We all like to compare numbers, especially when it comes to the number of people you've slept with.
But we accept defeat when it comes to Yuhei Takashima, who has apparently admitted to sex with over 12,000 women.
That's not a typo: more than twelve thousand!
The former Yokohama school principal was not just into the sex itself. He also catalogued his incredible feat.
Over 27 years he allegedly archived almost 150,000 photographs of his sexual exploits with prostitutes in 400 neatly filed red albums.
Takashima is aged 64 but his "career" goes back to 1988 when he went to work at a ...
Japan is a country where the Kanamara penis festival (held yesterday) is fine but the depiction of the female genitalia is not.
The two arrests of Rokudenashiko (Megumi Igarashi) have caused a furore around the world -- to be accurate, mostly around the world, not in Japan. The overseas press is much more interested in the tale of Igarashi and her arrests for distributing "obscene" materials.
Igarashi calls herself a "vagina artist". Her artist name means “Good-For-Nothing Girl” and she has proved up to the image, not least in the eyes of the vice squad.
Her "art of the ...
Former office48 (part of the AKS group) executive Takashi Nodera has been arrested and imprisoned for filming illicit naked videos of the young idols under his charge.
There has been total silence on this so far in the mainstream media, as well as, needless to say, from the powers that be at AKS, the company that runs the juggernaut that is AKB48.
But the tabloids have fortunately broken the story.
Takashi Nodera hid secret cameras in bathrooms, dressing rooms and hotel rooms between 2009 and 2010 to film the girls, possibly under age, while they relaxed without clothes ...
Sometimes you just can't resist that hottie on the train.
And combine cute girls on public transport in Japan with fiery Italian blood -- and you have a recipe for trouble.
On March 4th, Wakayama police arrested an unemployed 40-year-old Italian man for kissing a 21-year-old Japanese girl sitting on a train in the prefecture.
There is no indication that the two knew each other.
The Italian stallion admits the kiss but claims there was no malice. "The kiss was intended as a greeting. I didn't think it would break Japanese laws," pleaded the European.
It's true that in Europe ...
