Shock over “naked champagne tower” at Roppongi bar

If a certain President of the United States once boasted of having binders of women, then Hideto Sakai has — naked pyramids of them?

One of the viral trends on Japanese social media since the start of May has been a video and images of a “human champagne tower” that Sakai supposedly ordered. The Minato ward businessman asked the female staff at an exclusive bar in Roppongi to strip naked and form a tower, onto which he poured champagne.

It is a kind of twisted version of the super-expensive drink you can order at a host or hostess club. In the video, six naked young women — wearing masks to protect their anonymity — are couched on top of each other in the bar with their pert buttocks turned toward the camera, while Sakai gleefully pours bubbly booze over their bodies.

Another video shows a clothed Sakai playing rock paper scissors with several naked women, all sitting around a low table on which another naked woman lies, covered by ¥10,000 bills.

The bar is One Class, a members-only private lounge. Sakai is meant to be around 40 and a rich businessman with several companies in his stable. He also owns a race horse, but has previously got flamed online for overtly boasting about his wealth with an image of his bank balance, posting a picture of an ATM screen showing over ¥300 million, only for people to accuse him of using AI to generate the image.

The women involved are being described as “Minato girls,” referring to young Japanese women who do compensated dating, hostessing, and other somewhat dubious activities to support an affluent lifestyle. They live or date men who live in the eponymous area of Tokyo that is known for its exclusive condos.

Sakai initially tried to deflect responsibility by claiming that the images and videos circulating widely online are all AI-generated, which he had “confirmed” with an “expert.” Then he tried to claim on social media that it was all the fault of his ADHD medicine.

Or perhaps it was all the fault of being an entitled asshole with too much money?

On the other hand, the bar owner surely shares some responsibility for making his staff humiliate themselves by submitting to such a request from a customer who has hired out the lounge.

Inevitably, there is a recent Japanese porn release that shows a similar scenario (minus the champagne). Released in April, the AV (HUNTC-562) features a “naked gymnastics” with outlandish poses and sexual antics.

Perhaps this is where Sakai got the idea for his naked champagne tower?
