Haruka Kodama turns 30, goes nude for new photo book
Former HKT48 idol Haruka Kodama is notable, at least in our eyes, for two reasons. And no, we don’t mean those two!
Firstly, she is totally open about having had plastic surgery, which common among celebrities in Japan but not publicly discussed. (She’s also open about her bipolar.)
Secondly, she’s a good example of how former music idols need to be more provocative if they want to make their mark after leaving the ranks of a supergroup. Since leave HKT48 in 2019, Haruppi certainly proved this true with her regular gravure shoots and photo books, including a nude one in 2022 that showed off her butt and her nipples (though nominally hidden by sheer fabric).
Kodama’s latest photo book is appropriately titled You will see, her first major release since she turned 30 in September. It’s her third print photo book and comes out from Kobunsha on November 26.
It was shot on location in Sri Lanka and Kodama will be promoting it throughout the autumn and December.
In recent years, Haruppi has done more acting in TV shows and movies, but her fan base it still mostly just interested in seeing her in the buff. It’s a desire that she satisfies.
Early previews of the photo book show Kodama naked, kneeling on a bed with her nude body in side view, and a bed hanging perfectly positioned to hide her nipples.
The other shots we have seen look much tamer, so it might be a one-off, or the actual book may contain some further nude delights. The truth will be revealed on November 26, when we expect the interwebs to be flooded with fans’ scans of the pics.
