All-women event in Tokyo celebrates female pleasure and softcore porn

While Japan remains a male-dominated society and “pleasure” tends to favor the guys first and foremost, with us ladies getting short change, there are some small sea shifts taking place.

Tenga created the stylish iroha vibe and has made female sex toys a major part of its output. Porn for women is also growing in Japan.

Likewise, we are seeing more discussion of how women can enjoy sex in the mainstream, as well as adult entertainment.

The screening was Roman porno softcore classic Yugao fujin (literally, “Evening Face Wife”). The 1976 film is about a wife who gets involved in bondage. It stars veteran softcore porn actress Naomi Tani.

After the film, sexpert and writer Reiko Yuyama led a talk about how women get enjoy pinku eiga (so-called pink films, a more general name for Roman porno).

Each scene is around 10 minutes, giving the director a lot of freedom to explore the dynamics of the sex on the screen.

It’s also well known that many of Japan’s most famous directors started off their careers making Nikkatsu pinku eiga. Nikkatsu Roman porno has had a revival and the studio is shooting a new production for the first time in 28 years. It is set for release in 2016.

Yuyama says that women can enjoy Roman porno more than regular AV because the women are presented as beautiful and powerful characters in kimono.

The event was for women only but Yuyama noted that today’s “herbivore men” in Japan actually react to things almost the same was girls — so perhaps they should allow them to come next time. Attendants at the event were 80% women in their twenties and mostly very attractive. They were also “open and aggressive”, according to Joshi Spa.

Yuyama closed off the event with a suggestion that the iroha be used for artificial insemination!
