Saitama firefighter suspended over porn appearances
With the number of professional male porn actors so low, it’s inevitable that the industry must turn to other areas to make up the shortfall.
And it seems the emergency services are stepping up.
A 26-year-old Saitama firefighter is to be punished for appearing in porn.
The unnamed firefighter based in Koshigaya earned some ¥250,000 from appearances in adult videos until an anonymous tip ratted him out by sending a message to the Koshigaya fire service via its website at the beginning of April.
The man had appeared in five AVs in Osaka and other locations from December 2022. He would do the gigs on his days off, trying to earn some extra cash to pay off his car loan.
We’re curious to learn more about the AVs. Did they play up his background as a firefighter? (This is a common theme in gay porn, for instance.) Given the decent fees he was earning, we’re assuming he was the main male performer, because those AVs with male randos tend to pay badly (the “pay” mostly being in the form of the chance to have sex with a beautiful Japanese female porn performer).
For this terrible crime, he is now suspended for six months.
The Koshigaya fire service apologized. “We are truly sorry for this act that has greatly damaged trust in public servants.”
The issue is not that so much that he appeared in porn as much as that he had a side hustle in the first place, which is generally forbidden for public employees.
Of course, we’re sure the snitch found out about the porn appearances in a totally innocent way!

Because this is essentially business as usual for Japanese firefighters, who have a reputation for being macho and promiscuous. And it’s not the first time that firefighters’ choices of side jobs have landed them in trouble.
Last year, Aichi firefighters were reported to be working as drivers for call girls (using their own cars, we might add — not the station’s firetruck).
