Porn star Riko Hoshino to return to work after treatment for adjustment disorder
The Japanese porn star Riko Hoshino has announced her return to work after undergoing treatment for an adjustment disorder.
“I will resume my activities in mid-August and strive to meet everyone’s expectations in the best possible way, while approaching each and every job with a sincere heart,” she wrote in a statement released on social media.
In mid-June, we shared the news that the 27-year-old had been diagnosed with an adjustment disorder and was undergoing treatment.
Her mental health struggles were affecting her ability to promote her fifth print photo book, with events at bookstores in Tokyo canceled.
At the time, she described her anxiety issues that were plaguing her.
“I’m so sorry, I’m really sorry. I’m afraid to appear in public anymore. No matter how hard I try, when many people and strangers are looking at me it makes me feel faint, and I get so scared to go somewhere alone that my arms and legs freeze up. I’m really sorry.”
A Hokkaido native and former pâtissier, Hoshino made her JAV debut in 2022 and quickly attracted a lot of attention for her beautiful face and breasts, not to mention somewhat unusual background. She also released at least two male masturbators based on her mouth and vagina.
She left her agency at the end of March and has been freelance since April. Let’s hope that Riko is back to her usual self when she returns in mid-August.
