Nagoya man arrested for not giving amateur porn performers contracts
A 38-year-old man living in Nagoya has been arrested for failing to provide contracts and other documents to women who appeared in adult videos he produced.
According to police, the arrested man is Yuto Kamiya, a company employee from Naka Ward in the city. He is suspected of failing to provide contracts or related paperwork to three women who appeared in adult videos he produced between June and September of last year.
Kamiya has admitted to the allegations, stating, “Women often told me they didn’t need the documents, so I eventually came to view the process as a hassle.”
Kamiya reportedly recruited women via matching apps and other channels to appear in his adult videos for fees ranging from ¥10,000 to ¥30,000 each time. He is believed to have generated approximately ¥30 million in sales from making and selling his content. Nagoya police say they will investigate further for any additional offenses.
The authorities showed off a clutch of confiscated equipment like cameras and tripods as well as items like receipts for payments made to performers and contacts (suggesting he did provide paperwork sometimes).
The arrest and the way information about it was shared by police with the mainstream media to maximize exposure suggests a crackdown on amateur and independent adult content creators. It is a warning that the new legislation on porn productions apply to them too, and that rumors of a legal loophole that would allow amateur and independent porn to avoid the impact of the recent law has not proved the case. Likewise, it is still illegal to show uncensored genitals even if you are an independent OnlyFans creator or amateur porn producer, and you could face arrest.
