Kawaguchi politician Sayuri Okamoto alleged to have secret porn career

Sayuri Okamoto is a recently elected local politician in Kawaguchi. Allegations have appeared online over the past two or so days that she has a secret porn career after netizens seemed to match her face with that of an “amateur” performer in at least one 20-minute adult video release by Soku-nuki (M794G-02).

We must stress clearly and categorically that this is completely unconfirmed. At the time of writing, Okamoto has made no comment on the claim, though we cannot imagine that she is unaware of it, since it has become a large talking point on certain social media platforms and other websites for the past two days.

Some users have pointed out that while the performer and Okamoto’s faces do look similar, their voices are different, and certain facial features like her moles do not match. Okamoto also has children, and the 2024 release dates of the AV would overlap with her time as a mother, which makes it much harder to believe. (However, it is claimed that the AV currently on Fanza is a re-edit of a production previously released in a different format and code, dating back to 2015, or that this earlier release in the Maji series seems to star the same performer.)

Trying to parse all this “analysis” for the true details about the production is exhausting. Others have also said that regardless of the truth of the claim, it has no bearing on Okamoto’s anti-racist campaigning.

The main AV in question has shot to the top of the sales charts because of the attention, though the bargain bin pricing (as little as ¥100 in one of the available formats) is a major factor in this.

While it is true that models and others do appear in so-called “amateur” (shiroto) porn, where the performer is treated as a regular woman who is not named, and such cases have emerged after the performer became famous for something else (e.g., a music idol, streamer, gravure idol, beauty contest winner, baseball beer girl, TV presenter, and even a thief and suspected murderer), this current claim may say more about the viewing habits of Okamoto’s online enemies, who are mostly male right-wingers.

The very fact that the allegation has been so readily accepted and spread online reveals the extent to which certain netizens dislike Okamoto and want to believe anything bad about her, and how they do not fear legal reprisals because they hide behind anonymous accounts.

It might also reveal just how good online searches have become at identifying certain faces and providing “related” images, even from very obscure adult video releases from several years ago. In fact, the whole thing could be the result of an enterprising marketer, who used AI or Google Image search to match an amateur performer with the politician, and then started the rumor, knowing it would spark a response from her enemies, and lead to a huge publicity boost for what was most likely a minor AV with poor sales.

Net uyoku is a general label for terminally online ultranationalists who are very active on online bulletin boards and social media. One of such users’ fixations is the issue of foreigners in Japan, especially Koreans and Kurds.

Kawaguchi in Saitama, just north of Tokyo, is where most Kurds in Japan call home, and the concentration of an ethnic minority in one place has led to various campaigns, both positive and negative. Some xenophobes see the Kurds in Kawaguchi as the root of all evil in the area, especially crime. Some streamers travel to Kawaguchi, inflating claims and stoking the flames of local tensions in the hope of making money from ragebaiting content.

Sayuri Okamoto was elected to the city assembly of Kawaguchi in February 2026, campaigning on an explicitly anti-racist platform. She has lived in Kawaguchi for 15 years. As a young woman who is attractive, outspoken, and liberal, she was never not going to attract hate from net uyoku, and this current claim about a secret porn career is likely part of an online campaign to discredit Okamoto.

Update (May 19)
Shortly after publishing the above, Okamoto has issued a statement categorically denying the allegations.

“The video in question is not me. In 2024, I was busy with political activities (I was a volunteer for Reiwa Shinsengumi at the time) and preparing for my own election. And as stated in the post, in the 2024s [sic], I gained a lot of weight and my body shape was completely different from the one in the video. There is speculation that it might be from 2015, but in 2015 I was pregnant with my first child and had just given birth, so my belly was big, and I had the general swelling typical of pregnancy, making my body shape drastically different from the one in the video. Also, please don’t edit out the moles.”
