Retired porn star Akari Mitani reveals she never had boyfriend during JAV career

Retired porn star Akari Mitani recently appeared on the Abema variety show Hyena of Love 5, where she revealed some surprising details about her love life.

Mitani, who debuted in 2017 and retired in 2024, released a vast number of AVs during her long and successful career, as well as many sex toys.

Now aged 27, Mitani discussed her love life on the show, which aired January 20. She shared that she never had a boyfriend in the eight years she worked in the industry. Like Kurea Hasumi, with whom she is close friends, she said: “I didn’t go out and play, nor did I have sex with any man except for work.”

She did have time to drink, though, and revealed that she was a very heavy drinker in those days, and would often enjoy boozy nights with Kurea Hasumi at a certain bar, allegedly downing 40 or 50 drinks between them.

Given the very intimate nature of their day jobs, you might think that adult video stars wouldn’t be interested in a physical relationship with a boyfriend, or that they have a way of mentally separating “work sex” and “personal sex.”

Of course, in addition to their performing work, many porn stars also do compensated dating to make extra cash, which might keep them too busy for actual romance.

Or they are just very discreet and keep a close lid on public or tabloid knowledge of their lovers.

Perhaps that’s why we only tend to hear about porn star’s love lives after they retire (or if they happen to date men also in the public eye), such as Yua Mikami’s two-timing fun with a couple of male pop stars and Shunka Ayami with an older singer. An interesting exception to this “rule” is Saika Kawakita’s alleged dalliance with volleyball player Ran Takahashi.

Would you want to date a retired porn star like Akari Mitani?

    Of course she wouldn’t have a boyfriend, pornstars are both un-dateable and un-desirable

    @Surprise

    Sure, porn stars are famously “undesirable.” That’s why no one ever watches porn.

    porn stars are not viewed as people, being desired is a trait of actual people while porn stars are relegated to being playthings that are easily tossed aside as garbage

    I don’t think I’d want to date a retired porn star. Not only would it be likely I couldn’t measure up in bed compared to a pro, but I would not be able to tell if she was faking an orgasm.

    Desirable only as a sex object, not as a long-term dating/romance partner. That’s what @surprise implied.

    Anyone who wants to date her only wants her for the sex, but anyone doing compensated dating is always at risk of STDs. Because compensated dating is prostitution. And AV, like all sex work, is prostitution.

    Nothing wrong with prostitution, but actions have consequences. When one willingly becomes a prostitute, doors will close, both professionally and in personal/family relationships.

    a lot of things are wrong with prostitution, that’s why it’s illegal in so many places

    Surprised she’d be even looking, during her career she pretty much did everything – what would she do with a BF
