Miku Ikuta debuted in the adult industry in 2017 and gained a following until she retired in February 2023. She then announced her marriage in April 2024.
The 28-year-old ex-performer recently sat down for an interview with Spa! about her post-porn life. We have translated some extracts.
Q. You debuted in June 2017. How did you end up on the path to becoming a JAV performer?
Originally, I was a huge fan of Ebisu Muscats (an idol group featuring porn stars). But when I was watching their show, I didn't know they were sexy actresses. I just saw them as pretty girls. I wondered who they were ...
The rather sad travails of former porn star and minor celebrity Anri Sakaguchi continue. The 34-year-old tabloid favorite has now been arrested for shoplifting.
Police nabbed her on the scene after she was caught stealing a single sandwich in Hachioji, West Tokyo, on March 17. She has since been held at Takao Police Station. She has admitted the charge, though police can hold suspects for over 20 days without formally charging or indicting them, and it is likely that she won't be released for some time, despite the minor nature of her crime (the sandwich apparently cost around ¥300).

Retired porn star Akari Mitani recently appeared on the Abema variety show Hyena of Love 5, where she revealed some surprising details about her love life.
Mitani, who debuted in 2017 and retired in 2024, released a vast number of AVs during her long and successful career, as well as many sex toys.
Now aged 27, Mitani discussed her love life on the show, which aired January 20. She shared that she never had a boyfriend in the eight years she worked in the industry. Like Kurea Hasumi, with whom she is close friends, she said: "I didn't go out and play, nor did I have sex with any man except ...
Former porn star Anri Sakaguchi has announced her second divorce. In a sign of the times, she did so on TikTok.
Sakaguchi is the daughter of actress Ryoko Sakaguchi and has had a colorful career, to say the least.
The 34-year-old started off as a general tarento celebrity, but has been arrested more than once, done a stint in porn, and worked as a hostess, stripper, and call girl.
In 2022, she announced her marriage (after just one month of dating) to a transgender, biracial host called Shinichi Fukushima, but then split from him a mere two months later. The marriage was officially ...
The retired porn star Shoko Takahashi's return to gravure is proceeding with a new shoot for the current issue of Weekly Flash, which went on sale on November 12.
This represents the wheel coming full circle for the 32-year-old, who started her career as a gravure idol under the name Shoko Takasaki, but when a compensated dating scandal got her fired, she entered the adult video industry in 2016.
After seven years at the top of her game, she retired in 2022, though remains a popular face in the industry, appearing at a porn event in Macau in September.
In recent months, Takasho has ...
Ruka Aida (愛田るか) is a 53-year-old porn star and former stripper who debuted in 1995 and worked in the industry initially until 2004. She then made a comeback in 2006 from 2010, before doing sex work in Tokyo and Osaka. She made another triumphant comeback in April this year.
Over the course of her long career, the Hokkaido native has seen many trends come and go. The tabloid Spa! recently interviewed her and we have translated and edited some of the highlights.
She explains that her 1995 debut came about for very practical reasons.
"I wanted to earn money to cover moving costs. I ...
Since retiring from porn in August 2023, Yua Mikami has regularly stirred up controversy. Firstly by appearing to date two male singers at once. Secondly by pursuing her efforts to work in mainstream fashion through her own brand MISTREASS and by modeling for others, which some consider inappropriate given her previous line of work.
The 32-year-old YouTuber and celebrity will clearly do anything for a quick buck, including launching her own meme coin.
Her latest gig is serving as brand ambassador for papakatsu app mypappy, which she announced earlier this month. It has provoked a decidedly ...
Fans were delighted to see the return of Shoko Takahashi to the porn scene with her appearance in Macau over the weekend.
Takasho somewhat abruptly retired in 2022, seven years after her debut. She famously made the switch from regular gravure (where she worked as Shoko Takasaki) to adult video after her agency sacked her for getting caught doing compensated dating.
She appeared at PinkD! Entertainment Expo in Macau from September 26 to September 28. China and other parts of Asia are some of the biggest markets for Japanese porn, and performers often appear at such events outside ...
Now 33, Mio Oichi (音市美音) worked in the Japanese adult video industry from 2011 to 2012, and then again from 2014 to 2015, and a final time in 2018.
In a long and wide-ranging interview with Spa! earlier this month, she talked about her career and the difficulties she has faced as a former porn star. We've translated some highlights.
Her JAV career began in a fairly typical way.
"I was scouted when I made my debut. I was walking down the street when someone called out to me, and I went for an interview at an agency. I was young and interested in working in the entertainment ...
We all love Japanese porn stars. We all want to have sex with them.
But would you want to marry one?
Because of the nature of their profession, porn stars sometimes face discrimination when it comes to marriage, parenthood, and further career options.
Those who have tried to develop new careers in the public eye have suffered criticism, such as Yua Mikami for her modeling and fashion brand work, and those who have openly shared details about their marriages and children have also received abuse online.
On a recent episode of Abema's Hyena of Love, porn star Ai Sayama was shown discussing ...
