Aren't the cops meant to be the good guys?
Okay, I'm being a bit ironic there but still, this story is a bit much.
After celebrating at the farewell party of a colleague, two officers from the Yamato, Kanagawa, precinct, Yoshinobu Mori (35) and Yoshikazu Arakawa (38), went on for a nijikai (round two!) with two other policemen in March last year.
In the mood for some more drinking and fun, they phoned an off-duty female officer to join them at karaoke. Nothing unusual in that.
But then during the course of a tortured rendition of a pop song, things seemed to go wrong. The ...
Be careful of online dating.
That's the lesson to be learnt here after police busted DEAiBBS, a Japanese dating site started in 2005 and which has been "creative" with its user profiles for years.
Apparently it was helping 120,000 lonely Japanese singles hook up -- but actually some 80% of the users weren't even real, it seems.
Some unfortunate victims spent small fortunes pursuing the site as a path to romance. One 70-year old man used 10 million yen (more than $100,000); a 30-year old woman wasted 20 million (over $200,000) yen!
A simple Google search brings up lots of ...
Kanagawa prefecture education authorities announced this week that a male teacher aged fifty-five had been given a six-month suspension from his duties. The same teacher also resigned at the same time.
The educator was responsible for music clubs at his school but he apparently went beyond his remit for handling extracurricular activities.
Between August and October last year he continuously fondled and cuddled two music club members.
In particular, to one of them he confessed: "You are the only woman in my life."
He also played her piano tunes he had composed himself, ...
Hyogo prefecture police this month announced the arrest of three young boys aged between 14 and 17 on suspicion of forcing a girl to dress up as Santa and walk around town.
The bizarre crime in Himeji City has already been acknowledged by the arrested trio.
"Our jokes went too far," they said.
The four were apparently a group of friends who used to hang out together. They bought a revealing (and no doubt cold) Santa costume showing the shoulders and legs from a local store, and made the high schoolgirl dress up in it and parade around for three hours in the chilly afternoon of ...
Noriko Sakai, the former popular singer and tarento whose career was ended a few years ago by the shocking revelation that she and her then husband were drug fiends, is currently trying to make a comeback following a spell in prison.
She faces big problems, not least the distrust of the public, broadcasters and the all important corporate sponsors. She is also laced with billions of yen in debt from her previous agency due to repayment of fees from sponsors for breaking contracts.
She is appearing in a play this December, which should give her some money, though it is said not to be ...
Charges have been dropped against a police officer from Matsudo in Chiba who had been arrested for showing a police ID to an underage girl to try to smuggle her into a love hotel.
The twenty-six-year old man had been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping with indecent intent.
The girl with Kazunori Ohara was just 17 years old. He apparently stopped her on her way home in Chiba and asked her to come with him to discuss something about enjo kosai.
He was not wearing his uniform at the time but he did show his actual police ID. He managed to get her to the hotel lobby but not into a ...
Saitama police have arrested a couple, Naoki Konno (62) and his girlfriend, Chie Fujinami (26), for allegedly having sex in public in front of two junior high school students.
The unlikely pair apparently had sex in a car park in front of a couple of male students on June 30th this year. They have admitted "showing" their sex to the 13- and 14-year old boys.
They approached the students on the street and invited them to the car park to watch them have sex, and even let them touch Fujinami's breasts.
Konno then made the fatal error of telling the boys his email address, ...
That friendly face you see on NHK is not as friendly as you might thing.
Takeshige Morimoto, a well-known TV anchor for the national broadcaster, was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly groped a young university student on a crowded train in Tokyo.
The feisty 23-year-old girl was on the Tokyu Denentoshi line, which serves Shibuya and the nicer suburbs of Tokyo, when she felt some fumbling hands on her breasts.
She held onto her groper -- which is known as chikan in Japan, perhaps the only nation on earth that even has signs on trains reminding passengers that it is a crime ...
An incredibly indiscreet pervert taking photos (or video) of a girl's underwear on a busy train was himself photographed in the act.
The image of him being incredibly unsubtle in his crime soon enough went viral on Twitter.
The photo was taken by someone at 17:04 before arriving at Kawaguchi Station on the Keihin-Tohoku Line, running between the suburbs of Tokyo.
The man seems to have a technique, given the way he leans forward with this seemingly blank and innocent facial expression, his phone just apparently stretched out like that. Perhaps, though, he should first have glanced around ...
Underworld investigative blogger Tokyo Reporter has shared a story about the arrest of three Yakuza gangsters on suspicion of introducing a 17-year-old girl to men for sex at love hotels in the Kabukicho red-light this March.
According to police, the teenage girl ran away from home in February. While walking through the streets of Kabukicho, she was approached by Doi, who asked, "How old are you? Will you have sex?" Miyashita then arranged an apartment the victim used while she engaged in prostitution. The girl told officers that she provided sexual services to about 100 men over a ...
