Idol of the Week: Sayumi Michishige
Born in 1989, Sayumi Michichige (道重さゆみ) is one of the most popular members of J-Pop band Morning Musume. She has been part of the ever-changing ranks of the girl group since 2003, even though her singing is frankly nothing special.
Where Sayumi does excel at is looking alluring while still maintaining a Girl-Next-Door innocence.
She is the longest-serving member of Morning Musume. Most of the girls have trouble creating a real solo career after they leave, so let’s enjoy Sayumi’s fame while it lasts — and the countless excuses for bikini-clad photo shoots it brings.
