Retired gravure idol Reiko Nagaoka (Una Shirakawa) makes comeback with nude shoot

One of the regular themes of this blog is the after-lives of gravure idols, models, adult video performers, and so on. What happens after they retire? What can do they do after their time — often only brief — in the limelight?

We had Reiko Nagaoka (永岡怜子) on our radar for a while in this regard, because she presents an interesting example. And then her story took an intriguing twist recently and we felt it was time to share.

She first worked in gravure in the 2010s under a different name: Una Shirakawa (白川卯奈).

Shen then switched to Reiko Nagaoka in around 2016, releasing two photo books in quick succession: “anemone” in February 2018 and “Hanaichige” (Anemone) in January 2019. These were both “hair nude” full-frontals that established her as one of the few idols willing to go that far so early in her career. Another nude photo book, “period,” followed in March 2020.

With her G-cup breasts, kiss-me-now lips, and pale skin, it was easy to see why she was a popular choice for magazines. She also had ambitions to become an actor.

But then she quit and became an acupuncturist. She maintained a lively social media presence by posting old photos.

Clearly she was still itching to do gravure, though, because the good news is that Reiko Nagaoka is back!

Now in her mid-thirties and entering jukujo territory with aplomb, she’s just done a shoot for Weekly Friday and is releasing a fourth photo book, “Sore kara” (Since Then) in later March, shot by Koki Nishida (who did her previous effort too).

What could be better than that? The news that it’s another hair nude! We hope to update when we have pics!
