Vanished gravure idol Shizuku Taiyo reappears as porn star Minamo
A debut and a disappearance. This is a curious tale.
The beautiful gravure idol Shizuku Taiyo (太陽しずく), whose name literally means “drop sun” or “trickle sun,” broke into the mainstream with her industry debut in autumn 2019.
She graced the covers of Young King magazine for the September 24 and October 28 editions, and a 15-page spread in the latter. But then the 19-year-old basically vanished.
While it is customary for models and idols to change their professional names (especially ahead of a porn debut) and, in the process, for previous social media channels to be deleted, why was her career so short? And why has almost all online traces of her gone? You have to search social media or dubious bulletin boards to find stuff as a regular Google search in Japanese brings up surprisingly little, despite her (brief) splashy career entrance in 2019. Almost as if all “official” reports and news stories, of which there were surely some (at least on the Young King website), were purged.
What happened? A contract dispute? A scandal?
Regardless, she is now back — and best of all for fans, she’s back as a porn star.
She has a new, mononymous name — Minamo — but she has the same, amazing body: a cute face, awesome butt, and bushy eyebrows.
We could rescue some pics of varying quality from her short-lived gravure career, which she can find if you search a bit.
So, this is the original Shizuku Taiyo, circa late 2019.
Her reappearance actually started, albeit quietly, in February this year with a spot in the tabloid magazine Weekly Post’s gravure series as Minamo. And then in April, again under the name Minamo, she released two nude photo books in digital-only formats.
And now in June, she makes her porn debut for Soft on Demand (on its labels SOD Create and SOD Star).
