Pro bodyboarder Kyra Shirahase goes nude for second photo book

Kyra (or Kaira) Shirahase is a professional bodyboarder and model in Japan, and has just released her second print photo book that is set to increase her exposure in a more literal sense.

Blue Sight was released on September 16 from the publisher Futabasha.

The about-to-turn-29 Shirahase’s nude photo book shows off more of her athletic body than ever, and is the perfect callback to summer that we need now, as the weather slips into the autumn and the colder months lie ahead.

She covers her breasts with her hands, but in other shots her wet clothing leaves her nipples clearly visible, poking through the fabric and screaming for attention.

Every shot seems to emphasize her extreme tan line, the result of hours and hours on her board, riding the waves under the scorching summer sun.

Some pics show her standing on the beach completely in the buff, her naked butt and side boobs on full display.

She has posed semi-nude before among her previous digital and print photo book releases, of which there are many, but Blue Sight is the most explicit to date.

Her first print photo book, Kaira., took a similar approach, emphasizing her beach body and surf-loving joie de vivre, and with her bikini full off at various points, but she didn’t actually show any nudity. Shirahase, who hails from Chiba, where there is lots of great surfing on the Boso Peninsula, has also dabbled in acting, including a leading role in Caesium and the Girl (2015). She has a huge following on social media, not least over 130,000 followers on Instagram.

Her achievements in bodyboarding include a third-place finish at the World Tour Final in Portugal in 2024. Shirahase got started in the water sport somewhat later, when she was around 20.
