AKB48 fans devastated that “date tickets” do not include sex
Picture the scene. You are a diehard AKB48 fan and you see that your favorite group is advertising tickets that let you go on date with the idol you love. So much better than just the handshaking sessions, right?
Unfortunately, it really was too good to be true.
The tickets for the upcoming AKB48 shows in Fukuoka this November that were officially advertised as “Date Ticket: Experience what it’s like to be an AKB48 member’s lover!?” have since been retracted.
Given that AKB48’s members are banned from having boyfriends, it’s thus little surprise that management won’t actually let you sleep with the idols just for the price of a ticket.
In fact, the description clarified that the tickets allowed you to meet an idol before the show, watch the concert, and then meet her again backstage afterwards.
So no “lover” dimension to the perks.
Following a backlash, the AKB powers that be renamed the package to “Let’s Cheer on the Performing Members with the Other Members.”
So if you actually want to date your AKB48 idol, you will have to wait until they graduate — like some very patient boyfriends have done.

I wonder if that’s why so many of them go on to do JAV.
