Tenga inspires new 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games logo

Ever since the scandal of designer Keijiro Sano’s official 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games logo, people have been having fun with making their own versions of the troubled design.

Sano’s logo may or may not have been plagiarized from a Belgian source. Regardless, it became clear that Sano himself has plagiarized other materials for previous work.

The internet was largely responsible or this — netizens tracked down Sano’s copies and caused a lot of the fury. Sano even deleted his social media accounts just ahead of the announcement, perhaps fearing a backlash.

Though at times this has approached a cruel hounding, it has also been creative.

There have been lots of alternative logos proposed — including many funny ones.

Beat Takeshi, the film director and comedian, made a few small changes to the Sano logo to turn it into a cock and balls.

And then there is this Tenga Olympic logo.

Unofficially, the Tenga onacup has become part of Tokyo’s insignia for the Olympics.

Now that would be something if it happened! Celebrating one of the great achievements in Japanese design over the past ten years!

And maybe an opening ceremony starring Orient Industry dolls?
