Does it matter that Japanese girls have flat chests?

Sometimes we spend so much time drooling over sexy idols that we forget that the majority of Japanese girls don’t have such exquisite busts. In fact, as I’m sure you’re all aware, most of them have very small breasts — if any at all!

Of course, Megumi tells me, traditionally, having too big breasts would have been tough for wearing kimono and other old styles of clothes. So having small breasts is definitely a part of Japanese culture.

Like with anything, actually size doesn’t matter. It’s what you do with them that counts.

Actor Shun Shioya admits adultery, punched by Ai Tominaga

Why are Japanese girls pigeon-toed?

It must be up there with the bad teeth, the supposedly flat chests, and the noises during sex… Japanese girls are pigeon-toed. It’s certainly not all but a visible minority of certain younger girls walk in a strange bow-legged way.

But why?

It is perhaps something to do with always wearing high heels and having thin legs. As any girl knows, these will essentially warp your legs into all kinds of bad contortions.

Traditionally Japanese women also do not have much in the way of buttocks or thighs (after all, the kimono is a totally straight piece of clothing).

Western women, on the other hand, have larger rears and might be said to try to pull it in as they walk, meaning they push their feet out. For Japanese girls, it’s the opposite — some might try (subconsciously) to make their asses look more shapely and feminine by walking with them sticking out, making their legs and feet curve inwards.

That’s one practical explanation. Japanese sources usually put it down to us girls having to sit in the seiza seating position from a young age — though that does not really explain why it’s most pronounced in Shinjuku and Shibuya ladies, who are definitely not the sort to still be doing tea ceremony classes!

Ichiro Ozawa’s Secret Love Child?

Ichiro Ozawa, the man once certain to be Prime Minister before scandal forced him to resign, has been found innocent on fraud charges. No one seems convinced by the verdict, including us, which is why we couldn’t resist posting this story currently running wild in the tabloids.

According to Shukan Bungei, Ozawa apparently had an affair with a television reporter he met in 1989 at a party. In summer 1990 she then gave birth to his love child!

The tabloid uses as its source an acquaintance of the mother, whom she supposedly confessed to about the paternity of her son.

We cannot verify the accuracy of this story at all (= don’t sue us!) but we like the idea of the scoop, at any rate.

Politicians are famous for spawning kids through adultery and Japanese ones are no exception. The public tends to be more forgiving here, though if, as in one famous case, you don’t pay your mistress her dues — hush money, free apartment — then you cannot expect kind treatment from votes or the press!
