The veteran gravure idol Ayana Nishinaga is to retire from the industry after an 18-year career that began at the age of 12.
She released her fiftieth DVD in 2025, appropriately titled Bye-bye!, and appears in the current issue of Weekly Playboy, which has released a digital photo book called The Last to accompany her final shoot, suggestively featuring the model in a wedding dress.
The 30-year-old from Okayama describes in her interview in the magazine how she hopes to get married in her early thirties and start a family.
The magazine shoot features Nishinaga enjoying a "bath" with her ...
Many gravure idols struggle to reinvent themselves when their modeling career starts to wan, but Rin Takahashi has demonstrated that you can do this with aplomb -- and completely transform your body at the same time!
The 35-year-old formerly curvy gradol has shifted careers by becoming a personal trainer, toning herself in the process into a muscular, athletic, and tanned beauty.
A recent before-and-after viral photo shared by Garen Takizawa really brings home the extent of her physical journey, which she herself announced at the start of 2026. She lost around 17 kilograms in two years by ...
Everyone wants to be the next Minami Tanaka. While there have been plenty of past examples of Japanese TV announcers (newsreaders) shifting into modeling, both fashion and gravure modeling, Tanaka pioneered a successful style of shifting her career into a whole other stratosphere by releasing a sexy photo book in her early thirties, and earning a strong fandom among both men and similarly aged women.
But Tanaka is now about to turn 40 and focused on her new career as an actor, so there's a gap in market for a newbie.
We've seen a clutch of ladies recently try to assume the mantle: Anna ...
In early March, we reported on Akari Yoshida's gravure comeback under a new name.
Now working as Akari Koda, she had just done her first shoot in about three years, appearing in the pages of Weekly Playboy.
It wasn't a one-off. Koda has leveraged that shoot to keep building momentum in the competitive world of gravure, which is always looking for the next talent as the major publications seek to keep readers interested at a time when other images are just a click or swipe away.
The 22-year-old Koda, who actually made her debut in the entertainment industry at the tender age of 13, has ...
We all have fantasies about the hot Asian nurses giving us very intimate medical checkups. Well, Nana Saejima (冴島なな) is the real deal: an actual nurse in Japan who moonlights as a gravure idol because she's got the assets for the job -- namely, a pair of G-cup breasts.
The 27-year-old Saejima is a newbie on the gravure scene, having debuted just last year, but is already set to release her first nude photo book on April 20.
Unfortunately, initial previews are censored so we don't get to see those lovely nipples, but we look forward to perusing the goodies after the book comes ...
Former AKB48 superstar Atsuko Maeda has recently proved that rewarding fans who have waited nearly two decades with a semi-nude photo book in your mid-thirties, and claiming it's your best and your last, will reap commercial dividends.
On the other hand, as relative newcomer Miyuka Minami is showing, you can just go nude early in your career to make a splash.
The 20-year-old Mie native made her debut in 2021 as a junior idol but has branched out into more full-on gravure in recent years with the end of her stints in two idol groups in Nagoya. She released her first gravure photo book in ...
What magic is this? What elixir of youth has she drunk? Because veteran gravure idol Yoko Kumada does not look like a 43-year-old three-time mom.
The model continues to carve out a career well past the point at which most gradols have thrown in the towel. Not so with Yoko, who has overcome a fair few challenges in her personal life (not least, domestic violence and divorce) and stays in superb shape through pole dancing. She pumps out regular gravure DVDs that show off her athletic body.
In the latest proof of this, Kumada has released a video on Instagram showing a behind-the-scenes ...
She promised us more with her nipples, and she delivered.
The leading gravure idol Kisumi Amau recently wowed fans with wet pics from her new photo book. In the pool-themed shots, her nipples are clearly visible through her soaking swimsuit.
The 29-year-old former music idol's third photo book, Bonus, came out January 7 from Shueisha.
Even better, more images from the photo book showed that the gradol has really let rip this time with some nude shots. Perhaps conscious that the clock is ticking down on her career now that she's leaving her twenties, she has opted to do some very ...
The gravure idol Kisumi Amau has delighted fans with a wet shoot in which she poses in a skin-tight one-piece swimsuit, with her nipples clearly visible through the fabric.
Amau started off her career as a music idol in the early 2010s. The 29-year-old has now established herself as one of the top gradols at the moment.
She has just released her third print photo book, Bonus, which came out on January 7 from Shueisha.
We are having trouble confirming the source the new images of Kisumi Amau, though presume they are from Bonus, as Amau doesn't seem to appear in any of the weekly ...
Ever wondered what a chest X-ray looks like if you have a G-cup bust?
Coroco Toyoshima gave us an intimate glimpse into her body -- literally inside her body. The leading gravure idol posted a picture of her chest X-ray on social media on January 23, which soon went viral. At the time of writing, it's been viewed a whopping 43.2 million times! That's a lot more than how many look at our X-rays whenever we have a medical checkup.
The apparently innocuous post was even reported in the mainstream media.
The X-ray shows the shape of the ribs on her small chest, with the huge mounds of her ...
