Remembering scandal-hit comedian Hiroyuki Miyasako’s affair with beautiful model

The Japanese entertainment world has been shaken recently by a widespread scandal involving 11 comedians at leading agency Yoshimoto Kogyo who did side jobs for a criminal organization.

The initial scandal broke in June, when many comedians were found to have worked at a party in December 2014 by a criminal group engaged in fraud. To be fair, they apparently did not know the nature of the client who had hired them, but it once again highlighted the long-suspected connections between organized crime and comedy in Japan — a link encapsulated by the shock retirement of Shinsuke Shimada in 2011, a top comedian at the time.

Yoshimoto suspended the comedians but also ordered them not to speak to the press.

Since then, the most famous comedian at the heart of the scandal, Hiroyuki Miyasako, was accused of having further links to an individual convicted of gold theft. A photo appeared in the weekly tabloid magazine Shukan Friday. Yoshimoto then terminated Hiroyuki Miyasako’s contract, though apparently he had already offered to resign.

If you’re feeling sorry for the now out-of-work comedian, keep in mind that he has said he won’t retired from entertainment for good in spite of this scandal. And that he has had a pretty good 49 years of life up to this point. Here’s a case in point.

We particularly remember another small scandal from 2017 in which he was alleged to have had an affair with the gorgeous model and singer Hikaru Koyama (小山ひかる). They were spotted by a tabloid meeting at a high-end hotel, though the affair was denied.

Born in 1991, the slinky Aoyama also apparently had an affair with the wrestler and husband of celebrity Yu Abiru. So there would seem to be some kind of trend when it comes to Koyama’s taste in men.
