Public broadcaster NHK show features engineers drag racing modified vibrators
Japan’s public broadcaster has to appeal to a wide section of the nation with its programming. The show Makaizo no yoru (Crazy Modification Night) is primarily aimed at engineer-type guys who love making and customizing stuff.
But did the family-friendly broadcaster sneak a porn subtext into the latest edition?
This one featured three teams of male engineers competing to make fast vehicles made partly out of vibrators.
It’s either a bold approach to modifying and making a vehicle in a wildly original way — or a very cynical attempt to win views and clicks with a crazy concept. Some might even say it’s inappropriate for a public broadcaster to make such a show.
The edition of Makaizo no yoru went out on the evening of May 30 and attracted plenty of attention for its 25-meter “massager vehicle drag race.”
Netizens were also quick to pick up on the moment when attractive presenter Saya Ichikawa was asked if she had ever used a massager like this and she replied yes (but for her shoulders).
As aficionados will have spotted, the precise type of toy being used is a wand vibrator (sometimes called a massage wand or wand massager). One of the most famous vibes in Japan (where it is known as a denma), the genre started off life as the Hitachi Magic Wand and was nominally a body massager, but women and couples quickly discovered that these massagers had other potential because of their large, round, and flexible heads. In the years since, hundreds of versions have appeared on the market as well as attachments for the heads.
The wand vibrator has also become a mainstay of Japanese porn, often used in scenes where the woman is teased or given a forced orgasm.
And as NHK has now demonstrated, the wand vibrator has other possible uses when it comes to building vehicles and gadgets!
