Mature beauty Tomoka Takenaka finds more gravure success and fame

The TV announcer Tomoka Takenaka dazzled the world when she burst on the gravure scene at the age of 43 last year, showing off her mature, curvy, and fun body.

The former NHK presenter and Hiroshima native has now followed up with two new photo books that revel in her glamorous yet down-to-earth figure, which has some extra pounds and plenty of sexy love handles — not to mention a big, welcoming smile and H-cup breasts.

Like last November’s offering, the photo books are published by gravure magazine Weekly Playboy, which also released a further three in between. That’s quite a run!

That said, these might be the final such photo books. The titles — Born to be TOMOKA and Tomoka the Last — suggest the end of this eponymous series of digital photo books by Weekly Playboy, though we hope 44-year-old Takenaka can follow up with more releases. Dare we say it: perhaps she will do a nude shoot some day soon?

It’s also a joy to see more mature Japanese women finding success in gravure. As Japan’s population ages, we think we will see a lot more older gravure debuts and comebacks. Beauty standards will shift as the demographic changes. And if this trend means we get to see past stunners like Kumiko Takeda posing for gravure shoots and showing how hot they look even in their fifties, we reckon no one’s going to complain!
