A manga about how Japanese couples celebrate Christmas
To mark Christmas, we want to share this short adult manga that we saw online.
The original was created by Doro Mamizu (泥水真水) and posted on Christmas Eve.

An English translation was quickly posted by Eric Shahan, an independent translator who specializes in translating esoteric historical books.

It features a unique on the familiar Christmas tale of Santa’s visit (“‘Twas the night before Christmas” and all that). This version, though, references the standard Japanese interpretation of Christmas: as a day for couples, not families, and specifically Christmas Eve, which is the major day in the year for going out for romantic dinner dates (more so than Valentine’s Day, when basically women in Japan just give cheap chocolates to all their male coworkers).
It features a couple partaking in the classic Japanese Christmas Eve custom of having sex. They receive an unexpected visit from Saint Nicholas himself, who gives them some good news (or perhaps not, depending on what they are expecting to get out of their nocturnal activities).
We hope you all spent your Christmas or Christmas Eve this year in a similarly intimate way. Wishing all our readers best wishes for the holidays, however and wherever you spend them.
