Porn star Rin Amasawa shows off newly tattooed body
The Japanese porn star Rin Amasawa has revealed why she took half a year off: to get her whole back tattooed.
She showed off her body tattoos, which also cover her arms, chest, and back on one leg, in a post on social media earlier this week that quickly went viral and sparked a debate over her decision.
As of writing, the original post on X has been viewed 44.6 million times since November 17, which demonstrates either the size of the response or the arbitrary nature of the current X algorithm.
Rin was relaxed about attracting a potentially negative response from people, noting: “I don’t have any regrets, so no matter what anyone says, this body is the best!”
Though attitudes have changed in recent years, especially with the choice of certain celebrities and idols to get tattoos, inking remains associated with the criminal underworld, in part because yakuza would get extensive tattoos to mark themselves and also because criminals were branded with tattoos in the Edo period. Some public baths, hot springs, and pools still bar entry, at least nominally, to tattooed guests.
Moreover, in this case, Amasawa hasn’t just got a few tattoos on her arms: she’s covered her entire back, a long, painful, and elaborate process. The results are both artistic and erotic, but it will limit her roles in the future. She probably won’t seem believable as, say, a regular office lady anymore.
Amasawa, also known as Amarin, is attached to Bambi Promotion and currently has 33 titles on Fanza. This is what she used to look like in a release from February this year.
Over the past few months, the performer has regularly posted selfies (such as the one below) showing the progress she was making with her tattoos, so it should not have been such a shock. But for whatever reason, X decided to put in the feeds of a lot more people than usual, leading to an online discussion that has also prompted news articles.
