Gravure model (and calligrapher) Sara Oshino makes comeback

We love to rediscovering idols and models we thought had disappeared into the mists of gravure legend. We were initially confused by the return of Sara Oshino, though, since she now writes her name with different characters (おしの沙羅 instead of the more conventional 忍野さら), and weren’t sure if it was the same person. This is probably for contractual reasons with a change in agency but a new name also helps boost publicity.

In this case, it further reflects a new part of Sara’s appeal — that’s she’s now a calligraphy artist as well as a model — hence the rather fancy given name.

Now aged 30, it’s a comeback for Sara Oshino five years after she supposedly retired.

She got her start in the industry by working as a race queen (grid girl) and then breaking out into gravure in 2016 and the following year was her breakthrough, with 20 cover shoots. She was quite big in the industry for a short while, releasing multiple image videos and three print photo books, and beloved for her G-cup bust and her curvy thighs, but quietly retired in 2023 when he agency contract finished.

And now she’s back with a new digital photo book, shadow eden, and looking fantastic.

Strictly speaking, she already did a shoot for Weekly Playboy in April that marked her comeback proper, plus she did a cover shoot for Young King in August and already released another digital photo book, Awake.

This all somehow passed us by, but the release of her new book with Weekly Friday has been accompanied by a fair amount of publicity and interest. As these shoots show, Sara Oshino is clearly a bit older and wiser, but just as sexy and alluring as before (if not more so).

From the looks of things, Oshino is also doing some acting as well as holding calligraphy exhibitions. Let’s hope she continues her second gravure run well into her thirties.
