Ryoma Sakamoto arrested for “revenge porn”
Ryoma Sakamoto was a famous figure the era when Japan shifted from a feudal nation to a modern one. He is one of the most popular samurais in Japanese history.
But it’s also the name of a 30-year-old unemployed guy in Ome City, north Tokyo.
This Ryoma Sakamoto was informed by his girlfriend that she wanted to break up with him and the “samurai” was mighty pissed off. So pissed off he set about a plan of action, as any hero would.
His plan was revenge. And it involved home-made porn. Yes, it was, as it is known, “revenge porn.”
He began to threaten his thirtysomething girlfriend who he had been seeing for some years that he would distribute their photos and videos made together. You can imagine the kind of images and videos he was talking about and would worry the girl if they got out.
Sakamoto’s stratagem was simple. Email. He sent four emails to his former girlfriend’s phone with nude pictures of her attached and threatened to distribute the files online.
His “enemy” was more cunning. She went to the police and he was arrested for attempted coercion on December 7.

Why is anybody afraid of having their home porn or naughty pictures released on the Web anymore? Don’t they know the incredible amount that is there already and increasing daily? If you are somewhat famous, then maybe there will be gossip for awhile. If you are a nobody, you won’t raise any interest and your porn would be totally swamped by more and more porn overflowing the Web. And there are so many hot girls on the Web, they will steal all the attention anyways.
