OL cosplayer provokes fury over photos flashing panties at Osaka expo
The Osaka expo has proved controversial for a number of reasons, not least the huge budget overruns, the infestation of bugs, the unfinished pavilions, and the overpriced food.
But what about panchira (panties flash)? The latest issue involves a young Japanese woman who has posed for photos deliberately showing off her panties, and then posted those pics on social media for likes and views.
She certainly succeeded in getting a lot of attention.
The OL-themed cosplayer yuu_OLdays posed against the expo’s famous wooden ring structure (the largest wooden structure in the world), wearing expo mascot Myaku-Myaku eyes on her heard and pulling up her skirt to show off red panties.
She also posed with her legs spread while crouching next to a kangaroo sculpture at the Australian pavilion.
She quickly attracted opprobrium because of her public acts, not least because it is a family event with kids literally in the background of her panchira shots, plus a national event representing Japan on the world stage. If there’s one thing that Japanese netizens all hate, it’s a perceived slight to Japan.
The cosplayer, who had several thousand followers prior to the posts, has since apparently taken the most offensive panchira pic down as well as a YouTube video, but has left others up on social media.
The tabloid News Post Seven has already reported on the incident, including a hyperbolic quote from a commentator that a panchira pose at the Australian pavilion might even lead to an “international problem.”
In a social media age, combined with the local culture of ero-cosplay, event organizers are often hyper-sensitive to anything that might make the event look bad online, including inappropriate selfies and so on. It is debatable if these actions constitute public indecency but security is likely to eject expo visitors if they are doing provocative actions in the public areas. And it’s also probably not a great idea to post potentially illegal or dubious actions to social media unless you are desperate for clicks.

I didn’t expect it would be a news that she flashes her undies in that Osaka Expo🤔
The only reason it would cause a problem in Australia is because they hate anything remotely sexual to begin with.
Can not get too excited or upset over a small flash of red. Had she exposed bush or psi pan then make it a big deal
