Nagisa Watanabe photo book shocks internet
Now this is what we call moving on!
After quitting as an announcer at Fuji TV last summer, the future looked uncertain for Nagisa Watanabe.
When the Masahiro Nakai scandal broke, people were quick to deduce that she was probably the unnamed woman at the center of it. Though she’s still not officially identified, it is generally assumed that she was the victim of the alleged sexual assault, which led to her taking a leave of absence from her job.
Nakai, one of the biggest names in Japanese entertainment, was forced to retire and Fuji TV suffered a mass exodus of advertisers.
The 28-year-old, who is recovering from PTSD, has been preparing a comeback since last autumn, beginning with her (modest) gravure debut in November.
She releases her first photo book today and also appears on the cover of the July 7 issue of gravure magazine Weekly Playboy (same publisher as the photo book so such tie-ins are common).
Horizon is quite a lavish production, shot in Thailand over five days, so will have to shift a lot of copies to cover its costs.
Marking her second cover for the magazine, the Weekly Playboy issue also comes with a DVD offering 34 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage.
Inevitably, these pictures are provoking an unpleasant reactions from the more antifeminist corners of the Japanese interwebs. Netizens make the simplistic argument that she can’t be a victim of sexual assault if she is willing to pose for this kind of revealing photo shoot in a bikini.

Oh! lala ,yummilicious
She is yummy.. And smart too!
As for her reasoning
Clearly she has suffered sexual trauma. She was used unwillingly as an object. Many women are proud of their sexuality and femininity. They just want it done on their terms. Also, this could be therapeutic for getting over her trauma.
One way to get over trauma is to relive it in a controlled environment so one becomes desensitized to the event. It’s not uncommon for veterans suffering from PTSD to have a video game recreate the scenario in which they got hurt so they can relive it multiple times. With time this allows them to get over the event. Sounds counterintuitive but it works
In this case, she knows many men will look at her with lust but
1. She is safe
2. She shows what she wants, how she wants.
Best of luck to her!
Gotta laugh at how Japanese women capitalise on these types of incidents
