Mayumi and Tomoe Yamanaka prove sisters are sexy
Last year was full of gravure comebacks big and small. One of the more minor ones that nonetheless made us happy was Mayumi Yamanaka, now a mother of two and a mature, sensual 32.
In July 2025, she made a return to gravure after a few years away, appearing in a Weekly Playboy shoot and releasing a digital photo book. Mayumi has been in the industry for over two decades, having started as a junior idol when a teen. Her comeback proved once again that jukujo are the best.
She’s also got a 30-year-old sister, Tomoe, who ostensibly retired in 2020.
That seems to have changed, though, since the siblings have teamed up for the first time to produce a new photo book, charisma, coming out on February 14 (yes, Valentine’s Day). There is also a DVD and Blu-ray.
It features Tomoe and Mayumi frolicking around in skimpy lingerie and swimsuits at a sunny location, showing off their slightly curvy yet still very shapely and attractive bodies. Some of the revealing video footage has the two sisters rubbing their bodies together in lesbian poses. We can practically hear Mayumi’s kids asking, “Mom, what are you doing with Aunt Tomoe?!” We can imagine that Mayumi’s husband has no complaints, though!
We had actually missed it, but Tomoe apparently made a mini comeback of her own last May, releasing a gravure DVD.
The Yamanakas are an example of the “gravure sisters” subgenre. Other examples of gradol siblings include Yukipoyo and Yumichi, Yurina and Iroha Yanagi, Marina and Erika Momose, and Sayaka and Akari Tomaru. They have mostly worked separately, by the Momose sisters have particularly exploited their dual charms by pairing up for some very sexy shoots.
Pity Tomoe and Mayumi’s brother, who does not work in the entertainment industry, and understandably has complicated feelings about their revealing shoots.
