Gravure idol Aoi Fujino dies age 27
We are very sad to report the death of gravure idol Aoi Fujino from cancer at the age of 27.
Fujino officially retired on New Year’s Eve with a handwritten note posted to social media. “Given my current condition, I’m in no position to say that I am fine or OK, even if I had to lie,” she admitted. “Everything is getting worse, and it feels like anything could happen at any time. I’m fighting a daily battle with my body, which is at its limit.”
After a fight against parapharyngeal cancer for several years, she died on January 5, according to an announcement made by her family four days later. The news was then widely reported in the media.

Her mother’s message was accompanied by a photo of the funeral, which featured Fujino’s DVDs and other releases on display.

Fujino made her debut in July 2020 and quickly made a big splash, winning several awards and releasing a semi-nude photo book in 2022.

Cancer soon interrupted her success. She made her diagnosis public in April 2023, when she was just 24. She took a break to concentrate on her treatment but returned to the industry in August 2024. She left her agency in March 2025, shortly after releasing her second and final photo book, and worked freelance, though announced in July she would retire at some point during the year.
A native of Kanazawa in Ishikawa and known for her I-cup breasts, curvy body, and girl-next-door looks, Fujino was one of this blog’s favorites, and we were very shocked to see the announcement on Friday.
Aoi, wherever you are, we hope you find peace at last.
