The special menu they offer you at that bar in Shibuya or Shinjuku may well be too good to be true -- and it might well land the proprietor in trouble.
A bar in Shibuya offered a "VIP course" to customers who wanted to eat and drink while watching scantily clad female bar staff take a bath in a jacuzzi.
Shibuya Maison Sweet Dreams is run by a man called Wilbet Kerwin Carrasco Diaz, but the 40-year-old Peruvian has now been arrested by Tokyo Metropolitan Police for operating a business that violated the Entertainment and Amusement Business Law.
The VIP course at the Dogenzaka bar cost ...
After scandal, Nagisa Watanabe to release first photo book
April 30, 2025
/ Tadashi Anahori
Nagisa Watanabe is to release her first photo book, published in Japan on June 25.
Though still officially unnamed, it is very widely assumed that the former TV announcer is the woman at the center of the Masahiro Nakai sex scandal, which has ended his career and brought one of Japan's biggest broadcasters into disrepute.
It came to light late last year that Nakai, formerly of SMAP, had paid a female announcer a huge sum of money as compensation for a sexual assault. This is a common way in Japan to avoid someone pressing criminal charges.
The scandal has grown, with allegations of ...

/ Tadashi Anahori
A man from New Zealand has been arrested in Japan for attempted extortion after he sent messages to a girl in her teens.
The 56-year-old man, who says he is a chef but is unnamed in media reports, was arrested when he landed at Komatsu Airport in Ishikawa, a prefecture on the Sea of Japan coast.
He is suspected of sending messages to a teenaged girl in Ishikawa who he met on social media.
On April 18 at around 10 p.m., the man is accused of sending the girl a threatening message, warning her that if she ignores his messages he would go to her home. He told her to respond within two ...
Politician suspended for hiding his identity from lover

With a few notable and noble exceptions, politicians are mostly on the fiddle or on the pull, their hands in the expenses till or around some girl's body. It's a story as old as the hills and pretty much the same in any country, including Japan.
You might think that any politician from the Democratic Party for the People might be a bit more cautious after the leader, Yuichiro Tamaki, was caught having a long-term affair with a gravure model, but temptation plays to a different tune.
The party was forced to punish Masaki Hiraiwa, indefinitely suspending him after allegations emerged of his ...
Release of old nude photos of enka singer Aki Yashiro spark controversy
April 15, 2025
/ Tadashi Anahori
The release of photos of a Japanese singer who died at the age of 73 would not normally be news on Tokyo Kinky.
But the photos of famed enka singer Aki Yashiro have attracted a storm of criticism because they are nude.
The two pictures will be included with an upcoming music CD and feature Yashiro in her twenties.
When Yashiro was around 24 or 25, she was living with the man who took the two Polaroids in question. (He apparently has or had a further three similar nude Polaroids.) They were engaged for a while, it seems, but later broke up. He would set up his own music record label in ...
A typical month for a promiscuous Japanese woman

Last month, we wrote about the party that the promiscuous YouTuber Mesia held for people with a body count of over 100.
Seeing the mixed group of young Japanese people at the party was impressive enough, but Mesia recently shared "data" on her bedroom conquests in March. And it's a good indication of how the 24-year-old has already had 807 sexual partners in her life.
In March, she claims to have had sex with 14 partners (by our count, it's 13 different men and a second encounter with the same guy). She recently shared a list on social media with more details.
March 1: Yokohama happening ...

When April Fool's Day pranks go wrong.
Yesterday, we posted about the successful April Fool's Day stunt by gravure model Jun Amaki, who teased us that she was retiring. Of course, she wasn't and it was just a prank to get attention, and she even managed to attract news articles and raise her profile.
Influencer Sarimaru Kunikida's prank, though, attracted a very different kind of reaction.
The mom of one who works in PR and recruitment posted on April Fool's Day not about herself but about a guy from her company called Yuji Mizoguchi, a well-known entrepreneur and wrestler (and former ...
Binding Force: Japan’s First Facial Restraint Photo Book
March 31, 2025
/ Tadashi Anahori
Today, we are sharing some amazing images from Binding Force: Japan's First Facial Restraint Photo Book.
This is a 1990 photo book by Masatoshi Osanai that explores restraint fetish with lots of fantastically kinky portraits of women wearing BDSM gear like gimp hoods, ball gags, and even gas masks. Some of the more extreme images feature nose and mouth hooks.
All the photos are black and white and mostly just of the models' faces, but some are full-body shots (nude but with the bush airbrushed out, as is typical except for "hair nude" full-frontal nude books).
In the words of ...
Tokyo court rules that student turned university professor into sex slave
March 27, 2025
/ Tadashi Anahori
Sadly, we are now quite used to tales of sexual harassment in Japan and most other countries. These cases crop up a lot in the workplace, though also often in education, where there is a clear imbalance of power between the teacher and students, who are generally young and vulnerable.
And so we were both amused and confused when we read about a harassment case at a university that very much did not adhere to this format.
According to a March 21 report in the Mainichi Shimbun, Tokyo District Court ruled that the forced resignation of a university professor over alleged sexual misconduct ...
Sayonara to the Japanese female police officer skirt
March 26, 2025
/ Tadashi Anahori
Japanese female police officers will no longer wear a skirt as part of their uniform.
The National Police Agency said last week that skirts will not be offered for female officers after March, making their official uniform trousers the same as it is for men.
In practice, many Japanese female police officers were already wearing pants for frontline duties, but skirts had remained an option and certainly part of the image of female police in the eyes of many.
Skirted police officers were part of the traditional image of the NPA in Japan, especially in parades and so on. The skirt had been ...
