When love hotels become designer condos
Ever fancied living in a Tokyo love hotel? One company, Tokyo Style CC, offers you the chance!
We just spotted this story over on the blog JapanTrends.com. Tokyo Style CC has converted a small, tucked-away love hotel in east Tokyo into a customized, designer set of apartments.
Although Shibuya and its love hotel hill are likely more conspicuous for foreigners, there are actually far more hotels in more dubious areas like Nippori.
Many of these are pretty run-down places and you wouldn’t catch young couples dead in them.

The giveaway “wall of discretion” which masks love hotel entrances has been stylishly half-cut away. The walls have been painted with a pop art “paintbrush” design.
Each room has also been uniquely created and now the roof has also been opened up so you can go up for views of the Sky Tree.
The rent is currently around ¥70,000 ($900) a month per apartment.
