As part of its celebration of thirty-five years leading the business, Orient Industry recently held an exhibition at Vanilla Gallery.
The oddly titled The artificial Otome Expo [sic] (otome means “maiden” or “virgin”) featured a range of luxury silicone love dolls “Dutch wives” on display, including two ladies very seductively holding a large phallic object.
With Japan in recession, in general people aren’t spending much money. Retail has moved more and more towards cheaper fashion, cheaper food, cheaper drinks. So it’s hard to persuade people to put some several thousands dollars on a high-grade companion like an Orient Love Doll.
This kind of three-week event was a great opportunity for the curious to go see what they are missing. Of course, Orient Industry also has a small showroom in Ueno but a gallery is even easier to enter for the uninitiated.
There was also a “posing seminar” where Orient Industry staff taught visitors how best to pose the dolls.
Remember how we posted a few weeks back about the awesome Orient Industry love doll photo contest?
In the competition, the proud owners of Japan’s best high-grade silicone sex dolls were asked to take loving portraits of their companions and submit them to the judges.
Well, the winners have been announced.
The overall winner is SAKITAN for his culinary-themed image of a faithful doll in the kitchen, temptingly holding out a cherry…
Here are some of the other runners up…
The entrants ranged from younger guys (people used pseudonyms so I guess in theory there could have been some ladies as well!) right up to people in their sixties.
Judges included photographers Ryosuke Handa and Kyoichi Tsuzuki, and novelist Genichiro Takahashi.
Ten years ago it was completely different really, but the web has helped legitimize the erotic art of 100% silicone love dolls.
We wanted to a little round-up of all the videos and clips there are available for easy viewing…
And if you want the even better Japanese thing, the Orient Doll love dolls made from high-grade silicone? Check these clips out!
Candy Girls have since given way to other new ladies, such as the amazing Real Love Doll Ange.
Orient Industry, Japan’s biggest maker of high-grade silicone sex dolls, is celebrating its thirty-five years of business with a photo contest for customers to send in their shots of their precious love doll companions in all sorts o unusual poses and places.
People have been sending in photos of sexy sex dolls in over the summer and the winners will be announced in September, judged by a group of professional and established photographers.
There are shots of single dolls, multiple dolls… dolls at train stations, dolls in bed… naked dolls, dolls in wedding dresses, lingerie, uniforms… everything you can imagine!
It is also planned to have a commemorative album featuring the photos, plus an art exhibition somewhere. We hope to catch this after details are announced.
The winners not only get the glory of being called a true love doll fan, they also get cash prizes as much as 100,000 JPY (around $1,000)!
Looking at the entries is also a very interesting way to see how varied love doll owners are, with ages ranging from twenties and thirties right up to fifties and older.
We’ve included a few samples here but you can see more entries on the Orient Industry website.
It’s not often we like to use the term “only in Japan” but sometimes it’s just about right.
Though it’s defunct, at the height of the love doll boom in 2004-2005 (at least, boom in its recognition in popular culture), when TV shows were finally taking an interest in the amazingly ultra-realistic silicone brides of Orient Industry, and there were even doll rental services — then in your book store you may have been lucky enough to get a copy of the glossy magazine i-doloid.
Made by Core Magazines, who specialize in adult or underground mags, sadly it’s now no longer in print, it seems, but there were lots of editions and even some spin-offs (i-doloid petie [sic], i-doloid vista), dedicated to certain genre of incredible real love dolls.
Let’s hope they can bring the magazine back some day!
Recently we were fortunate enough to be kindly allowed to visit our friends Orient Industry in their factory and then their amazing showroom near Ueno in Tokyo.
Naturally, treating their products very seriously, Orient Industry are sensitive about the special creation process for the dolls, so we refrained from filming inside the factory itself (but check out the great slideshow at the start!)… but all we can say is: Wow!
Rather than anything “kinky” or strange, the laid-back and welcoming staff at Orient Industry seem more like master craftsmen (and women) in the traditional of Japanese monozukuri.
You can see the utmost care and precision with which they make their premium love dolls, like true artisans. While we were visiting the factory we witnessed several dolls being handcrafted, each one made to order, from their beautiful body frames to the ample busts, realistic silicone skin and, finally, the alluring faces.
Meanwhile, back nearer the center of Tokyo, the modestly sized but packed showroom is a veritable tribute to the artform of sex dolls.
It features exhibits on the history of Japan’s top sex doll brand, not to mention a whole feast for the eyes with numerous wonderful doll models, all arranged for the discerning visitor to admire.

We’ve been waiting for a decent new love doll for ages and finally we get one to keep us warm this winter! Orient Industry know how to craft and create something much more sophisticated that the usual “sex doll” or “Dutch wife”. Their silicone companions are like real women, with characters and sensual bodies!
That’s what “Bihaku” means. It’s one of those terms that Shiseido and the cosmetics companies use a lot, and it quite important to Japanese concepts of beauty.
We got a sample sent over from KanojoToys and I’ve been trying out how flexible the Bihaku body is. Personally I’m not a big fan of posing — though some guys love taking photos, I know — but I do like different sexual positions, so Ange’s versatility is a major plus for me. What’s more, her “bihaku” skin makes her look and feel VERY Japanese.
This is a new series from Orient Industries who, long-time readers will recall, are responsible for the Candy Girl et al.
Now they have turned their craftsmanship over to cute girls with giant eyes, small noses and maid costumes. It’s anime love doll time!
For all those guys who watch anime or read manga with lust in their eyes, these four models will make your fantasies come true. I’ve particularly been enjoying Satsu and her school uniform outfit! You know I’ve always had a thing for school girls…
Being an Orient creation, of course, attention has been paid to customization — you can choose your body type, breast size and from a range of accessories. Getting this kind of love doll is not a casual purchase…it’s a commitment to a new partner!
We’ve waited and waited, but the latest Candy Girl dolls have just been released from Orient Industries! The Candy Girl Jewel Diva series is, IOHO, the best one to date for those who want the satisfying shape and feel of a grown woman.
The Jewel Diva series is absolutely stunning, with four new faces to add to the lineup: Ran, Miki, Lisa, and Mao. The faces have an even deeper realism than ever before, and there are other very cool features such as the new Styla Hole onahole, and the ability to place fake nails on the hands.
Once again, these are completely solid 100% silicone dolls, soft to the touch, and posable as you need them to be. Orient Industries is once again proving that they’re still the absolute best in realistic adult dolls.

KanojoToys finally has the Candy Girl Petit Jewel series, including the “F” model with larger breasts! Jewel and Jewel Rosa are much sought after, but for those looking for a smaller frame and lower price, the Petit Jewel is perfect. With a body made of 100% silicone and in one complete piece (no joint breaks except for the face/wig contact points), Petit Jewel is a perfectly smooth model of youth and perfection.
Whether you want the standard Petit Jewel with its tight body, or the Petit Jewel F with the same tight body and larger breasts, you’ll be able to create the girl of your dreams in a compact package. Her skin is soft and supple, not sticky or rough at all. This is as close as you can get to the real thing. Forget the Real Doll and its “asian” models that look like caricatures. If you want a realistic doll that looks entirely Japanese, Candy Girls are it.

Body Frame: Do you want your Candy Girl for standing or modeling? The Grip Frame has tighter joints that can be moved and kept in that position for the best poses. This is ideal for taking photos, or simply for having more secure positions such as on her knees or standing (with support). The Free Frame has less tightness for those who want a freer feel.

Body Hole: You can choose from the “webbed” or “boing” body holes made specifically for Candy Girls. Extras are available with discounted pricing. Orient says that other brands can also be used if they fit correctly, but we have not tested any yet.
