Schoolgirls in Toy Boxes: The Strange, Erotic Photography of Kikuna Mishima
We recently discovered the very unusual work of photographer Kikuna Mishima.
Born in 1982, she won a major award at GEISAI #10, an art festival for up-and-coming young artists.
She takes ever-so-slightly grotesque shots of girls surrounded by teddy bears or planted in flower beds or inside drink glasses. One of the most startling is of a schoolgirl who has been partly “unwrapped” from her toy figurine box!
The results are cute, erotic and beguiling.
