Little Brother cosplay cafe for girls

We all know about maid cafes. But what about us girls?

Sure, there are host clubs but some of us don’t actually like guys with ridiculous orange hair cuts, up-themselves attitudes — and then paying huge bills for the privilege!

Fear not, there are Otouto Cafe (Little Brother Cafe) for us ladies!

One example is the Cafe B’s Prince, a concept cafe opened last year. The staff are actually girls but dressed as boys. This is basically more a cosplay cafe catering (no pun!) to fujoshi manga fans (um, semi-lesbians who like girls dressed as boys).

There is a whole spate of these dansou cafes (butler cafes). This blog has a good run-down of the ones in Ikebukuro or Akihabara.

I particularly like the Butler Cafe for girls who like to be served by handsome foreign men. Don’t tell Taro!

Caterpillar film shows disabled war vet sex

A new film explores the feelings of war guilt for Japanese people. Caterpillar is about a soldier, haunted by his experiences of torture and rape in China during the war, who returns to Japan a hero…but without any legs or arms.

Though he is torn apart internally by his feelings of guilt for his actions in Asia, he is still very keen of screwing his wife! She obliges like a good woman was expected back then (and still now!), despite the obvious practical difficulties of having sex with a severely disabled man.

The director, Koji Wakamatsu, actually got his break in the industry working for pink films, so it’s no surprise that this is a slightly kinky (and provocative) take on the war trauma for Japanese. (It was also released on the anniversary of the Hiroshima Bomb.)

Considering the movie also stars Shinobu Terajima you can at least expect some realistic sex scenes — she is one of the few Japanese actresses prepared to take her clothes off. (To be fair, though, Terajima has already won a major international award for her performance in this film!)

Yuki Aoyama has a thing for school girls. Well…don’t we all?!

Tokyo pink Ueno Okura theater closes doors

Remember back in June when Megumi blogged about the pink movie theater Okura in Ueno that was closing down (to re-open as a “modern” porn cinema, including for women patrons)?

Tokyo Reporter managed to capture the final day closing events (oh, why do I have a regular job?!). After five decades of providing the citizens what they want, the curtains came down on a landmark of porn history in Japan…

Top Hong Kong actress in affair with rich man?

Famous Hong Kong actress Carina Lau is the subject of HK gossip columns at the moment, following sightings of her in intimate dinner meetings with mega rich entrepreneur Jing Bai Fu.

Carina is of course one half of a major HK celebrity couple — her husband is the lovely Tony Leung, who she married in 2008 in a lavish ceremony. Is Carina having an affair? Is such a thing even thinkable, let alone possible?!

American Marine sexually assaults Okinawa woman

An American soldier has been arrested in Okinawa for sexually assaulting a Japanese woman in her twenties. Philip Sawyer is a Marine actually based at Iwakuni in Yamaguchi and was just visiting Okinawa, it seems.

Sawyer (28) waited for the woman in her hotel room and tried to force himself on her in the early hours of the morning. This wasn’t a case of getting mixed signals — they had never even met before!

Clearly his training hadn’t prepared him for feisty Okinawan girls. She made enough noise for the neighbors to hear and call the police. On top of failing at rape, Soyar made a disaster of escape too and was swiftly apprehended.

Okinawa is home to tens of thousands of US troops, and incidents of rape and sexual assault are a factor of life for residents there. Perhaps the most notorious was the 1995 rape of a 12 year old girl by a soldier.
