Naked bag-snatcher terrorizes summery Osaka

It was just after three on the afternoon of August 16th, a scorching hot day in Hirano, east Osaka. Hirano is notorious for bag-snatching and other crime, so when police got a call from a twenty-six-year-old girl that her purse had been grabbed while cycling home, no doubt they weren’t surprised.

Until she gave her description of the criminal. “This is a first,” said the police.

According to the girl, the man was aged between 30 and 35, with a crew cut and muscular build.

But he had chosen to steal her handbag with its 9,000 yen inside wearing the most unusual of crime world garbs.
