Elementary school teacher installs camera in student girls’ toilets, gets caught

A teacher in Shiga has been caught installing a miniature camera in the girls’ toilets at the elementary school where he works.

A student found the secret video camera one morning and told the school honchos.

Before the school could even launch a full investigation the teacher responsible confessed. Apparently the fortysomething educator had been off work for almost a year for undisclosed mental issues and this was how he “celebrated” his return to his duties.

Apparently his tech skills, along with his ability to keep a secret, need some training as he failed to record any of the girls.

Police have yet to charge the teacher and instead apologies have been offered to the parents of the students by the school.

Shiga prefecture’s schools have been in the headlines before for several other scandals involving teachers recording the girls in their care, not to mention the very high profile bullying case last year that led to a student’s suicide.
