Dead naked hostess: note from hell

Former actor Manabu Oshio has written a letter detailing his despair, according to tabloid claims. The fifty-page document has been released via his lawyer and is being nicknamed “note from hell”.

Oshio is of course the guy who last summer was arrested for fleeing his Roppongi apartment. Not such a big deal, right? Well, unfortunately there was a dead girl in there. And naked. And a hostess. Dead from an overdose.

Yep, not a good combination. Of course, the media paints Oshio as the bad boy: promiscuous, arrogant and obviously guilty. The girl was, of course, just a victim. Um, if a hostess was caught taking drugs with a geinoujin she would hardly be a saint, right?! Somehow her unfortunate death means that everyone forgets about the facts.

Oshio will stand trial (by jury) for his erotic crimes. Currently he is in a “holding station”, an ambiguous Japanese semi-prison for people who have not yet stood trial. (In Japan you can be held by police for weeks without charge, and then months without trial.)

Clearly Oshio doesn’t fancy his chances in a trial with his peers. On prominent display in the “note” is the English sentence “All hope is gone”…Or is it a last-ditch attempt for sympathy?!

Just be warned, boys! Fuck hostesses by all means. Get them naked and take drugs with them. Just don’t let them die on you!

Eventually he was sacked by his agency, which is tantamount to ostracism in the conservative world of Japanese pop entertainment. Now his marriage is officially over he has a long way to climb up from the hole he has made for himself… Hey, at least he didn’t take drugs and/or cause the death of a hostess. [...]

  2. [...] Shock horror! A girl exploiting her fame to get some fun and pleasure for herself?!! Well, it’s okay if it’s men (unless you go as far as, say, Edison Chen), but with an idol, and especially for an otaku idol, it’s the ultimate taboo, up there with taking drugs. [...]
